Kristin Smart lives in the Cowichan Valley and competes for the Ceevacs Roadrunners. The young mother of two has been racing in the series for a decade, starting with the Vancouver Falcons Athletics Club.

“I am super excited to announce that I have been selected as a Vancouver Island Race Series ambassador for 2025! Once an elite-level marathon runner, now a yoga teacher and a mother of two under age two, I still believe my fastest days are ahead of me.”

Kristin cannot wait to share her journey of racing the series to return to fitness, “with you all!”

Kristin will be racing in the Harriers Pioneer 8K, Cobble Hill 10K, maybe the Bastion 12K, Westcoast Sooke 10K, Comox Valley RV Half Marathon and Bazan Bay 5K.

“The race I am most excited to participate in is the Bazan Bay 5K. This race being one year postpartum will be the most consistent stretch of training I’ve done in years.”
